Born and raised in Astoria, OR. I have always had a love of nature….all things in nature. When I look at a subject, I get my mind as close as possible to the “life” of the subject so I can bring a part of its world out with pigment, water, and paper - showing others how I see the world around me. I draw a great deal of inspiration from others as well, and having a large family always gives opportunities to paint and create.
Since 2012, I have developed my skills in watercolor painting, building upon my foundation in sketching. Persistence in improving technique through experimentation and taking a deep dive into understanding color theory propelled me further into the creative world of Watercolor Painting. Painting now serves as a vital escape and creative catalyst, mitigating the pressures of PTSD and finding
solace and inspiration in ocean and wildlife themes.
Inspirations abound! The only requirement for everything I paint is that I feel a connection energetically to the subject, vision’s owner, or the experience. I make an effort to bring emotion and energy out from my paintings through highlighting or clarifying the detail. Fine details are added to intrigue a closer look, which is where the magic is.
